Park Ji Min, known as Jimin, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and dancer. He is a member as well as the lead vocalist and main dancer of BTS.
Jimin made his debut on June 13, 2013, as a member of BTS on Mnet's M! Countdown with the track "No More Dream" from their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Together with the members of BTS, he went on to win a series of awards and performed at several events, such as the Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Jimin has one younger brother. He became interested in performance after watching singer Rain perform in eighth grade. He subsequently moved to Busan High School of Arts' Modern Dance Department. He decided to audition with BigHit after his dance teacher suggested he audition for an entertainment company. After being accepted, he transferred to Korea Arts High School in Seoul, graduating alongside group-mate V in 2013.
On December 31, 2018, he released his first unofficial solo track called "Promise" for free on BTS' soundcloud page.
On December 24, 2020, Jimin released another solo track titled "Christmas Love".
Alongside the other members of BTS, Jimin was awarded the Hwagwan of Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea for contributing Korean Culture and Literature to the World.
He graduated from Global Cyber University with bachelor’s degrees in Entertainment & Media in August 2020.
He enrolled in Hanyang Cyber University’s graduate school for an MBA in Advertising & Media in September 2020.
He was given the President’s Award at Global Cyber University’s Graduation Ceremony on March 1, 2021.
In 2023, Jimin featured in Taeyang's (a member of the K-pop group BIG BANG) song "Vibe". Also, in 2023, Jimin released his first solo album, titled "Face", with the songs: "Like Crazy" and "Set Me Free". It set several chart and sales records, debuting at number one in South Korea and Japan and number two in the US.
In May of 2023, he was one of the singers, along with artists Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, JVKE and Muni Long, of "Angel, Pt. 1", which is part of the Fast X movie OST.
