Jung Jae Hyung is a Korean singer-songwriter, pianist and a film composer managed by Antenna. He was born in Seoul and graduated from Hanyang University's College of Music, with a major in composition. Before his debut, he did not listen to pop music and was immersed only in classical music. He made his debut in K-pop in 1995 as part of the group "Basis" with his college classmates. Basis had its heyday with the success of several singles across three albums before splitting in 1999. After this, he moved to France for a number of years to study film music and piano performance at the École Normale de Musique de Paris. Upon returning to Korea, he pursued a solo career as a crossover classical musician.
He is best known as a variety show personality, having hosted many shows including Hyena on the Keyboard and Immortal Songs 2, and appeared as a recurring guest on Hangout with Yoo and Infinite Challenge.
